"Operation Blessing" team helps Hurricane Harvey Rockport victims
A group called "Operation Blessing" teamed up with home improvement store Home Depot Friday morning. Together, they're helping out Rockport residents rebuild their homes in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
"Operation Blessing" has been in Rockport for nearly a month. They came here to coordinate volunteer efforts, and today they were sending about 50 Home Depot workers out to homes across Rockport.
Anita Longoria is one of the Rockport residents they helped out. She's been trying to repair her parents home by herself.
She tells KRIS 6 News,"We got some help from Home Depot, and I'm happy, I'm happy that they're helping us because we had, we have a lot of stuff, a lot of things and we're grateful for them."
"Operation Blessing" has received about 800 requests for work since they arrived.
As of Friday evening, they've completed more than 500 projects.
