The 18th Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children Conference will take place Wednesday, September 20th.
CORPUS CHRISTI -
Now in its 18th year, the Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children Conference has been a resource of hope for many. The gathering -- presented by more than 15 community partners -- is a way to highlight the tools available to those who find themselves in a situation which requires them to raise children not their own.
This year's conference will be held at the American Bank Center (1901 S. Shoreline in Corpus Christi) Watergarden Room on Wednesday, September 20th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Those who attend may expect to find information on Legal Issues, Internet Safety and Social Media, School Facts, Social Services and Healthy Lifestyles. There will also be various exhibitors and informational booths.
An 'Ask the Experts' panel will be on hand to answer questions submitted by conference attendees.
Additionally, a photo contest will allow grandparents to submit a picture of themselves and their child(ren) engaged in a healthy lifestyle activity. Visit https://www.facebook.com/grrcc for additional information.
A continental breakfast and lunch will both be served during the event, and door prizes will be awarded.
Although the event is free to all who would like to attend, you must register by calling either (361) 883-3935 or (800) 817-5743.
