3 arrested in connection with Corpus Christi's most recent murder

Corpus Christi Police report that three people have been arrested on charges related to the September 3 murder of 28-year-old Juan Montoya. 

Ben Villegas, 32, Abraham Cardenas, 53, and Crystal Juarez, 23, are all being held on warrants for Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Villegas and Cardenas were arrested on Sept 8 and booked into the city detention center, Juarez was booked into the Nueces County Jail on Sept 12. 

Authorities say that the investigation is ongoing, and the case will be referred to the Nueces County District Attorney's Office when it is concluded. 

Montoya was found shot in his vehicle, in the 3300 block of Baldwin  at approximately 2 a.m. on Sept 3. He was transported to Spohn Shoreline where he was later pronounced dead.
