CORPUS CHRISTI -

Looking for a good book? If so, you may want to take note of an effort involving the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

Each year, the local AAUW is proud to offer scholarships to local college students. The group also engages in various community projects, and helps maintain and grow AAUW library and literacy programs. In order to continue their work, local members of AAUW will be holding a book sale Thursday, September 14th through Saturday, September 16th at the Neyland Library (1230 Carmel Pkwy.) from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

A variety of unique books will be offered in dozens of categories and prices start as low as $2.

Since the group's founding in 1881, members of the AAUW have examined and taken positions on the fundamental educational, social, economic, and political issues of the day. It is an organization that bills itself as the nation's leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. There are more than 1,000 AAUW branches across the country, including one here in Corpus Christi, which began in 1927.
