Council to vote on property tax increase

Posted: Updated:

A property tax increase is scheduled to be discussed at Tuesday morning's City Council meeting.

The city Financial Services Department is recommending a property tax rate of $0.606, which is a 3.11% increase over the effective tax rate.

This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate, according to the memo posted on the city's website.

The increase will raise taxes on a $100,000 home by approximately $16.87.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at City Hall in Council Chambers.
