In a first-of-its-kind event for Corpus Christi, the Del Mar College Foundation is taking fundraising for scholarships to new heights by collaborating with the urban adventure company known as Over The Edge Global.
Business leaders, individuals and community members are invited to raise donations in exchange for the experience of going “over the edge" and rappelling down 20 stories at an event at the Holiday Inn Downtown Marina Saturday, October 21st. The Foundation hopes to raise $100,000 for DMC student scholarships, meaning greater access to quality education for local residents.
A total of 70 "over the edge" spots are available for thrill seekers willing to help Del Mar College students in making their dreams possible. Each participant must raise a minimum of $1,000 to earn the opportunity to rappel down the hotel. Other options are also available, including "toss your boss" and sponsorships.
No climbing or rappelling experience is necessary for this event, just the courage to go “over the edge” and rappel down 200 feet.
Adventurous thrill seekers can sign up anytime between now and October to raise funds toward their rappelling opportunity. Participants will set up their own donation page where family, friends and colleagues can donate funds using social media.
