Our newsroom has received phone calls and emails asking how folks in our community can help those in need, here's a look at the most effective and easiest ways you can donate.
If you are worried your donation might end up in the wrong hands, or you simply don't know how or where to help, there are ways to do it here in the coastal bend.
In Corpus Christi, officials are connecting volunteers and donations with those in need. they have assigned volunteer liaisons in surrounding cities to make the process easier.
The city is in direct contact with the emergency operation centers in the hardest hit areas.
Tom Brown is handling donations and volunteer management, he says donations are being re-distributed to people in Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Rockport and Portland.

KRIS 6 Cares - Coastal Bend Strong Relief Effort
KRIS Communications and our parent company, Cordillera Communications, are helping to raise funds for Harvey victims in the Coastal Bend. The first $50,000 in donations will be matched by KRIS and Cordillera.
100% of proceeds will go two local relief efforts: the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and the American Red Cross of the Coastal Bend.

City of Corpus Christi
Officials ask that you call the city's call center at 826-CITY (2489) to donate, or you can drop-off your donations at Church Unlimited on Bay Area Drive or at the Salvation Army, where monetary donations are preferred.
Mayor's Hurricane Harvey Fund
Mayor Joe McComb, of Corpus Christi, has established a fund to aid relief efforts in local communities with the Coastal Bend Community Foundation. All funds will go towards local communities with a focus on rebuilding infrastructure and revitalization of the area. Donors may specify an area or focus for their donation to go towards. American Red Cross
At the American Red Cross, shelters are open and truck loads of supplies are being donated.

United Way of the Coastal Bend
The United Way of the Coastal Bend has established a Disaster Relief Fund for the area, with the goal of meeting local storm-related needs and supporting the long-term recovery of the affected region. 100% of proceeds will go to local agencies who will turn over 100% to the people who need help for months to come.

Food Bank of Corpus Christi
The Corpus Christi Food Bank is also in need of volunteers. They need about forty people per day.
