The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has released the identity of an elderly woman who was shot and killed.
According to forensic examiner, the elderly shooting victim was 94-year-old Vivian Nelson.
Corpus Christi police say the victim was shot in the back of the head while sitting in a wheel chair. Medical examiners say she the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say her son, 75-year-old Leslie Charles Nelson, shot her.
Nelson also appeared in court Monday afternoon. He asked for a court appointed attorney.
