ORANGE GROVE -

The victim of a fatal tractor trailer rollover accident has been identified as an investigation into the accident continues.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigators continue to work to determine the cause and nature of a crash that left a driver dead near Orange Grove after her tractor trailer rolled over.

On August 9, around five miles east of Orange Grove, a 2015 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was reportedly traveling west on FM 624. Investigators said that for unknown reasons, the driver of the truck veered off the road to the right, then over-corrected, causing the truck and trailer to roll over multiple times.

The driver, now identified as Cynthia Gonzales, 45, from Taft, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

DPS continues to investigate the accident as of Friday, August 11.
