FLOUR BLUFF -

A police chase led to a crash and then a foot chase through parts of Flour Bluff after a suspicious man fled from police.

It began when Corpus Christi Police Department received a call from a group of teenagers in Flour Bluff reporting suspicious activity.

Police said the teens told officers that they spotted a man appearing to take a motorcycle from an abandoned building. The teens said the man loaded the motorcycle into the back of a white pickup truck and took photos. Then, the man took off.

As officers were collecting reports from the teens, they saw the suspected white truck drive by, without the motorcycle. Witnesses identified the driver as the same man they'd seen earlier.

Officers pursued the suspect, but the driver led police on a chase through Flour Bluff. The driver ultimately crashed the truck near the intersection of Laguna Shores and Knickerbocker Road.

The suspect then fled his vehicle and took off on foot, with police close behind. Officers said they cornered the man at Jim's Boat Barn, where they found him on the roof of a building. Shortly thereafter, the man managed to evade police and escape the scene.

CCPD said they believe they know the suspect's identity.
