Texas A&M's "Healthy South Texas" program makes Zika prevention kits

Posted: Updated:

To help in the fight against the Zika Virus, one local group is putting together "Zika prevention kits".

Texas A&M's Healthy South Texas along with the help of organizations like the Driscoll Health System and the Health Department were able to put together more than 8,000 kits.

Each kit contains several helpful items like educational materials, protective baby clothing, insect repellant and condoms.

Condoms, because the Zika Virus can be sexually transmitted.

The kits will be available through doctors and expectant mother programs.
