Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

Corpus Christi police have responded to a shooting at a convenience store.

The shooting happened just after 8:45 p.m. Sunday night at a Stripes convenience store at Airline Road and S.P.I.D.

After a shot was fired, a vehicle fled the scene and later a gunshot victim walked into Bay Area Hospital.

Police officers at the scene say it appears that a female gunshot victim was holding a gun inside the car and it accidentally went off.

So far, investigators say they are investigating the incident right now as an accidental shooting.

Investigators were trying to get additional information, but the woman was receiving medical attention.

Officers are still investigating the shooting, and it's not known if anyone will be charged.

The woman's medical condition is not known at this time.
