The Red Cross is assisting a family who have been displaced by a fire.

The fire broke out at a home on Virginia St., around 1:15 a.m. Sunday. The fire was quickly extinguished, but the house sustained heavy damage.

Four people were inside the home at the time of the fire. Everyone got out unharmed. Family members tell KRIS 6 News that a woman smelled smoke in one of the back rooms.

The fire remains under investigation.
