Dozens of veterans in the Coastal Bend got free help to navigate through the "MyHealtheVet" website and email system.
The Veterans Administration, Del Mar College, and the Nueces County Veterans Services Office held the seminar over at the Del Mar College Center for Economic Development from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon.
Volunteers taught veterans how to navigate through the "MyHealtheVet" website.
The website allows veterans to look at their medical records and their lab results. Veterans can also use the site to order prescriptions and order their service records and award letters. They'll even be able to schedule their appointments with the V.A. according to volunteers.
Nueces County Veterans Service Officer Martin Longoria says,"It's more beneficial to you instead of having to call and get put on hold. This is a great opportunity to where you can come out, and you can do it from your home. You don't have to sit on a phone line."
With the amount that showed up for Saturday's free event, another one is being planned by organizers later in the year.
