Next Thursday will mark five months since Andre Fuqua was killed. The 24-year-old runner was returning from Galveston on January 22nd.
He had taken part in a competitive run. Around 11:30 pm, police found his vehicle wrecked along I-37 near Violet Road. Fuqua had been shot inside his vehicle.
The investigation remains at a standstill despite a Crime Stoppers reward offer of $2,500, there has been no arrest. Fuqua's loved ones are now asking for the public's help in finding Andre's killer.
Gregg Fuqua says through family and friends, they've raised $25,000. That money will be the reward to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction for the death of their only son.
Gregg Fuqua says every day since they've lost their son, has been difficult. "You can't imagine how difficult for us, it's been. It's been very trying times. I would like to just ask the community for any assistance, that's why we're putting up the reward. We can all have closure."
If Gregg Fuqua finds a tip that he believes is credible, he'll turn it over to police. We want to note that his reward offer is completely independent of the one being offered by Crime Stoppers.
