Because of a scheduling conflict withe the American Bank Center, the IceRays find themselves "homeless" for the rest of the playoffs. As of this writing, they have no place to practice or play. The rodeo and Disney on Ice will be taking up the ABC for the next few weeks. This is a very difficult time for the IceRays who advanced to the south division finals.
IceRays general manager Pat Dunn is desperately looking at other venues. He is currently in talks with Hidalgo, San Antonio, Sugarland and Cedar Park.
"Today you wake up to reality and it's a bittersweet day for the IceRays," said Dunn. "Since last night was our last game at the ABC, we won't have ice for the rest of the playoffs so we are in search of a new home right now. Unfortunately, we don't have the rights to the ABC and they have some bigger events coming in compared to us. We have to respect that. It's a tough one to deal with and it's certainly not a fun situation for us, but the ABC has a job to do, so we think we understand, but it is what it is."
