Calallen's Phil Danaher can add more hardware to his massive collection of awards. He has won the Tom Landry Award which goes to the Texas high school football coach of the year. It's a very prestigious award for a several reasons. Number one, the award is named after the former Cowboys great head coach and number two, it's voted on by coaches across the state.
Danaher of course became the winningest coach in the history of Texas high school football this past fall and led the Wildcats to the 5A state title game.
He will receive the award May 6th at the Texas Hall of Fame luncheon.
