Ray Madrigal announced on Thursday he will run for mayor in the upcoming special election.
It looks like voters will have several options on the ballot in the upcoming special election for Corpus Christi mayor.
On Thursday, Ray Madrigal announced that he will also run for mayor. Madrigal is a military veteran and former municipal court judge in Seadrift, Texas. He's served on several committees and would get along with everyone on the council. Madrigal said,"I have no problem with nobody. I think I have the necessary qualifications to be the mayor of Corpus Christi and I can prove it."
Hours after Dan McQueen resigned, former councilmen Chad Magill and Mark Scott both announced their plans to run for mayor.
Former mayor Nelda Martinez says she's undecided. She'll make a decision in the next few days.
