Improvements made to help voters in Nueces County

Posted: Updated:

Voting will be a little different in Nueces County this year, that's why people running the elections are working to make the process easier for everyone.

Expect to see new computers when you check in at the polling location to cast your ballot and remember, you'll now be able to vote at any voting location.

The county says it's these improvements that will improve the overall voting process but election judges are nervous about the new technology because they've never worked with it before.

Nueces County Clerk Kara Sands says these improvements will better the overall voting experience so through next week, the county is inviting anyone with questions to check out the new technology.

Election judge Susan Cude has used the new system and says, it should help expedite the voting process.

Cude said "We're not used to doing that. We're used to doing it manually at Election Day. Now the early voters have used it, but it's also a different type of equipment so everybody is a little bit nervous."

Also new this election, companies like RTA and Tride rideshare will be offering free rides to and from the polling places.
