    Dale's Hurricane Guide

After living and forecasting weather in the Coastal Bend for thirty five years now, there is one dominant theme in every hurricane season that I have been a part of since 1981. Nearly all of the storms that have made a direct hit here were weak and did little to no damage, while the ones that were destructive hurricanes hit elsewhere on the Texas coast and had little to no impact on us.

    Heavy RainHeavy Rain

Heavy downpours are expected to move on shore today. Look for significant rain to affect the Coastal Bend for the next few days. Because of our drought conditions we don't expect significant flooding, however by the end of the week we expected to be saturated with flooding becoming possible. The heavy rain will sweep a lot of trash into the storms drains which may cause localized flooding in areas where not expected. Today: Thundershowers increasing by afternoon. High 86. Tuesday: S...

We finally picked up a few hundredths of an inch of rain this morning out at Corpus Christi International Airport.  Six-hundredths to be exact.  Obviously not much, but a sure sign that our dry and sunny weather pattern is beginning to crumble. Upper-level high pressure has move into the eastern United States and has allowed a tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico to slowly push westward the last several days.
