A 9-year-old California girl spearheaded a 24 hour book drive that is hoping to break a Guinness World Record.
Danay Ferguson's nonprofit "Reading Heart" along with hundreds of volunteers worked together to collect more than 280,000 books in just 24 hours over the weekend.
People from all around Danay's home of Fresno brought books by the thousands, and some organizations even donated money. All while 360 cameras caught all the action for Guinness World Records.
Danay says her goal was to share her passion of reading and make sure every kid has a book.
According to event organizers, Guinness World Records is still reviewing the book donation drive to see if it qualifies for a world record.
