ARANSAS COUNTY -

The Texas Rangers are investigating the death of an Aransas County man.

Just after 6:00 PM Tuesday, Rockport Police were called to a home in the 100 block of Rattlesnake Point Rd. Officials tell us a man and woman were involved in a disturbance when officers arrived. An altercation broke out when officers tried to arrest the man. He became unresponsive once he was taken into custody, and was given first aid until an ambulance arrived.

The man was taken to a hospital in Aransas Pass, where he later died. An autopsy has been ordered.

He was identified Wednesday as 40-year-old Wesley Manning.
