(KHOU) – Burglars fled after they were caught red-handed breaking into a business in north Houston.

The break-in was reported before 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Shop n Go convenience store on Veterans Memorial at Marcolin. The burglars had smashed a hole into the store but got in their vehicle and sped away as police arrived.

The driver led police northbound on I-45 to the beltway. They eventually gave up a few blocks away.
