CORPUS CHRISTI - An officer checking out a burglary call at the Memorial Apartments on 25th Street early this morning didn't buy Cody Yarbrough's explanation that he was just trying to fix laundry machines.

Around 5:00 a.m., the officer found a soaked Yarbrough leaving the laundry room with tools in his shirt and quarters in his pockets. According to police, Yarbrough claims his concern about the burglary lead him to try and repair the machines.

Police accuse of him of kicking in the door, dumping one of the machines on its side, and taking coins from a total of three machines. During the attempt to get coins out of the machines Yarbrough apparently broke off a water supply, leading him to be soaked with water.

He's charged with multiple counts of burglary.
