CORPUS CHRISTI - Police shut down Interstate 37 northbound near the Labonte Park exit this evening for a suspected DWI related crash involving two vehicles.

Police say the DWI suspect was heading the wrong way in the northbound lanes. The other driver was unable to avoid the collision.

The two pickups sustained heavy damage in the impact. Amazingly, both drivers are said to have suffered only minor injuries.

We're hearing one of the drivers may have some connection to local law enforcement. However, police would not comment.

The road started to reopened to all traffic around 7:45 p.m.
