INGLESIDE - A worker who fell 190 feet from a platform at the Kiewit facility in Ingleside and landed in the water was flown to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital this afternoon. The man's identify has not been released.
A spokesperson for Kiewit says the worker was wearing a life jacket when he fell into the water. He was conscious when rescuers reached him.
The spokesperson says the worker was taken to the hospital to be checked out. There's no word on how badly the man was injured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
On Monday, a large crane collapsed out at the site during lunchtime. A representative from Lampson International, the operator of the equipment, said no one was injured in that incident.
