CORPUS CHRISTI - A couple of women are jailed today on charges they were stealing Christmas decorations from a yard.
A homeowner on Gayle Drive called police when she allegedly saw the thieves load up the inflatable decorations.
It's the same neighborhood where residents go all out for their annual Candy Cane Lane celebration.
According to police, a neighbor was chasing down the women as they drove away in a Cadillac. The officer stopped the Cadillac on Killarmet Drive and noticed several inflatable decorations in the back seat.
The neighbor was able to tell the officer where the decorations came from.
26-year-old Tara Speer and her passenger, 31-year-old Deborah Harrison, are charged with theft. Speer is also charged with possession of marijuana.
Police returned the decorations to the rightful owners.
According to online court records, Speer just bonded out of jail on Monday for a drug possession charge.
