Woman Sues Toyota After Malfunction Causes Miscarriage

CORPUS CHRISTI - One local woman is suing Toyota after a vehicle malfunction not only caused an accident, but cost her the life of her unborn child.
About a year ago, Sandra Luera tried to stop before hitting another car when her brakes refused to respond.
After the accident, Sandra was taken to hospital and learned that not only was she pregnant at the time of the wreck, but the collision caused her to miscarry the baby she didn't know she was having.
She and her husband have sought out the help of attorney Jeff Wigington and want the Toyota company to be held responsible for the loss of their child.
Sandra Luera said, "They had taken me to the hospital because as I got into my accident, I felt a gush of...and I knew something was wrong. So when I got to the hospital and they told me I was in fact pregnant and as a result I had miscarried."
