CORPUS CHRSIT - Last night, we brought you the story of a local woman who was trapped in her s-u-v after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. She turned to us in hopes that she could find the two good Samaritans who helped save her life. With our help, she was able to reunite with one of the persons who saved her life.
It was just moments after robin's story aired Sunday night about her search for the two good Samaritans who saved her life last month that her phone rang. On the other line was Alex, the first face she saw the night of her accident and her first sign of hope and survival.
"He called and said 'hey I saw on the news you are looking for me, and I am so glad you are okay.' I said ya I just want to touch base with you," said Robin Reames.
Monday Robin waited and watched anxiously by the door for a man whose she barely remembered.
"You're my hero, my angel forever. You know where to get flowers if you need any," she said to Alex when he arrived to her flower shop.
Once again, Robin met Alex after he stopped at 2;30 in the morning to check on her as she remained trapped inside this smashed SUV.
"I just got out to make sure to if everyone was alright. And I saw her in there, she was awake, moving. So we tried to move her, she was hurt so we left her in there. The car started smoking and it got on fire so you know we did what we had to do," said Alex.
Alex, a modest and humble man only wanting in return to know that robin was alive and well.
"I know you don't expect nothing," said Reames
"Are you doing fine though?," said Alex.
"Ya I am doing a lot better," said Alex.
As for the other good Samaritan, the female off duty EMT, she remains a mystery. Robin still holds out hope to she will soon be able to meet her other hero.
Police are still waiting for blood test results to come back for the guy driving the other car. They say they smelled alcohol on driver's breath the night of the accident. He's under investigation for intoxicated assault with a motor vehicle.
