CORPUS CHRISTI - A woman was killed overnight after crashing her car at the intersection of Port and Morgan just after 1:30 a.m.
Police say 63-year old Maria Teresa Hernandez was speeding when she lost control, slid sideways, struck a couple of trees, a fire hydrant and a telephone pole.
Her car rolled over a couple of times and landed on its roof in the Bonilla Plaza parking lot. Officers say she was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially thrown out the car.
Hernandez died at the scene. The medical examiner says she died from a head injury.
