CORPUS CHRISTI - One woman is in jail today after she lied to officers about her car being stolen.
It started last night around 10pm, CCPD was investigating a hit and run crash on Greenwood.
Police found a white Chevy Malibu had been hit from behind and the driver who crashed into it fled.
A short time later, 27-year-old Shirley Noyola called police saying that her car had been stolen.
Police arrived and Noyola told officers that someone had burglarized her house, stole her purse, and the keys to her car.
Noyola had an active warrant and police placed her under arrest.
She was given an opportunity to call her mother to come pickup her children.
When Noyla's mother arrived, she told police that the car was never stolen and Noyola even asked her mom to drive her by the scene on Greenwood.
Noyola was arrested for an outstanding warrant and making a false report to police.
