Woman Arrested After Early Morning Standoff

FLOUR BLUFF - Police were called out to a home on the 900 block of Admiral Drive in Flour Bluff around 2:30, Thursday morning, after a 47 year old woman shot at her 50 year old roommate. The bullet grazed the man's shoulder and he is expected to be just fine.

But when police arrived to handle the situation, the woman ran back inside the house and locked the door. After police tried to get her to come out of the home, SWAT was called out.

After negotiators were unable to convince her to come out, the SWAT team fired tear gas into the home until the woman finally surrendered around 5:30am, about 3 hours later.

The woman was taken into custody without injury and, as of now, is being charged with aggravated assault on her roommate.

Officers last reported that they are looking for the gun the woman used to shoot the man in the shoulder.
