Woman Accused of Fighting With Officers

CORPUS CHRISTI - A woman found walking in the road early this morning not only had an outstanding warrant, but she's also facing several new charges after reportedly fighting with police.

Officers say when they tried to arrest 29-year-old Kimberly Kay Balboa, she swung at the police and made a dash for it, only getting about 60 feet before the officer caught her near 18th and Marguerite.

Police say they had to tase her when she kept swinging at them. Officers say they found crack cocaine and needles in her purse after her arrest.

Balboa's now in custody for her original probation violation warrant. She's also facing new charges for evading and resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and of a controlled substance.
