CORPUS CHRISTI - The amount of windstorm inspectors is about to decrease making it more difficult to get windstorm insurance for your home.
The state has recently made changes that will force all windstorm inspectors to get re-certified. Not everyone likes this. Some who have already re-certified themselves to inspect homes say there will be a decrease in inspectors.
This will make it more difficult to get your home insured. So since there will be a decrease in inspectors, before you consider doing any additions or construction to your home have an inspector or engineer on board.
"Because once you've gotten it done, we're very reluctant to go there and inspect that. Because we're liable for that," said Windstorm Inspector Ed Sample.
