CORPUS CHRISTI - Christopher Williams, the West Oso High School teacher fired after being accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a female student, is resigning rather than fighting his termination.
A statement from West Oso ISD today reads "Christopher Williams has resigned rather than litigate his proposed contract termination.. this means the district will not have to put the students and staff through the strain and disruption of a hearing."
Action 10 News and KRIS 6 News first broke this story about the allegations in January.
In February, the school board voted unanimously to fire him. Williams appealed and his appeal was to be heard soon, before the two sides agreed to drop it.
Williams had been on administrative leave with pay since January.
