ARANSAS PASS -- The family of a man stabbed to death in Aransas Pass says they're confused as to how this could happen.

The victim's wife says her husband was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back.

Family members say Alfred Garza always had a cowboy hat and smile on.

He also loved to dance.

His wife, Carmen Garza, said he danced to, "...country and western, Spanish and stuff like that. I would throw him off to my nieces and nephews because I couldn't keep up with him half the time."

Detectives say Garza and Jose Roland Oronigo got into a fight early this morning inside a trailer home on North Commercial in Aransas Pass.

Police say the two could've been arguing over drugs.

During the fight, Garza was stabbed several times.

Carmen Garza says she has no idea why someone would kill her husband.

She didn't recognize the suspect and says Garza was a good man.

She's still trying to understand.

Carmen said, "I got the call that he was gone and I said no he can't be...till now I can not believe he's gone."

As Carmen struggles with the death of her husband, she and other family members lean on each other as they try to get through this first night.

The victim's sister Elena Chreene said, "We're going to miss him a lot and my sisters wanted to be here too, but they couldn't. We're going to miss him."

One thing that helps...memories of better days.

Family members say Garza was a jokester.

He enjoyed the beach and cooking out, but they say he'll be remembered most for his kind heart.

Chreene wanted to tell her brother, "I love you Alfred. We love you. We'll always love you. You'll always be in our hearts. God bless you."

There was another woman in the trailer with the victim and suspect.

Police say she was also stabbed but haven't released her name.

Garza's wife says she's a family friend and says she's out of the hospital recovering tonight.
