FLORIDA (WFLA) - A Florida woman is accused of trying to kill her husband with a tuna sandwich.
On Thursday morning Gregory Richards went to his job as an electrician with a tuna fish sandwich his wife Beth had made.
At lunchtime, he started to eat the sandwich but noticed it had an aspirin aftertaste. His wife texted him: "are you eating your tuna fish sandwich?"
He only ate half the sandwich, then went back to work.
Shortly afterward, he became dizzy and nauseous while on a ladder, then passed out and fell.
"In the meantime, Beth calls her stepsister and she's rather gleeful about the fact that she has poisoned her husband with an antidepressant," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
Beth Dickison Richards was later arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, poisoning food with the intent to kill, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection to the premeditated attempted murder of her husband, Gregory Lawrence Richards.
Gregory Richards was taken to Lake Wales Medical Center, where he was treated for nausea and dizziness-related symptoms, then released.
