CORPUS CHRISTI - It's that time of year again where families cool off at the local pool. But for some families on the westside, swimming at the TC Ayers pool has become dangerous.
"Her and this one have a real bad cut on them...really this one right here," Beatrice Cantu, Mother of Pool Victims points.
So i asked to see...and there it was.. on the bottom of Beatrice Cantu's children's feet.
"It's really bad. I even cut mine so I have my socks on," Cantu says.
Cantu says the bottom of the pool is so rough, people who swim here walk away with cuts on their feet.
a YMCA representative says the problem is out of their hands
"It's a city pool...it's run by the Y..but it is the city's funds," Brittni Matejek, YMCA Representative says.
According to Brittni Matejek, the city has been notified of the problem.
"They fixed two pools they replastered and painted two pools this season. And it wasn't in their budget to do anymore this season so they were unable to do this one," Matejek says.
She also says the city plans to try and fix it sometime soon, but for now, the YMCA is urging swimmers to wear shoes.
