CORPUS CHRISTI - There was noticeably less wind over South Texas today after yesterday's gusty winds topping out near 40 miles per hour in some locations. There is still plenty of cloud cover out there ahead of our next weak frontal boundary that will arrive late tonight into the early morning hours and bring only slightly cooler air and a brief wind shift to the northeast. Despite cloud cover today, as has been the case for the past several days, we still managed to hit the lower 90's in the city along with some other inland areas while the upper 80's dominated over other parts of the area.

Tonight, there will be a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms as the weak front approaches from the north and passes through the Coastal Bend around 2-5am. So for most of the night, expect mostly cloudy conditions with chances of rain increasing slightly overnight and lows dropping into the mid to lower 70's. I expect the lows to go from the mid 70's to the lower 70's versus previous nights due to the cooler air that should spread before sunrise.

Monday, will see a mix of clouds and maybe even a peak at some sunshine the further into the afternoon we get as the front pushes further southward. Afternoon highs will shift from the lower 90's to the mid to upper 80's with a northeast wind around 10-15 miles per hour. Just note, that there may be some lingering showers before the noon time frame.

Clouds stick through most of the forecast period with another weak front arriving early Thursday morning that will reinforce the cooler air, but is still not the "cold blast" that so many are longing for. This will keep temperatures in the mid to upper 80's for highs, but drop nighttime lows to the mid to lower 60's for a few days.

Have a great work week!
