Teaser: Alleged Scammer Wants Cash for Information

CORPUS CHRISTI - Tonight on KRIS 6 News we talk with an Annaville woman who says she's sick and tired of people calling her over and over telling her to claim a million dollar sweepstakes prize.

She tells us the callers say all she has to do is go to Walmart, buy a prepaid debit card, and give them the numbers so they'll have the funds.

Following up on her complaint, reporter Andrew Ellison called the number listed on her caller id that comes up as 'Kingston, Jamaica.'

In our first call, the man on the other end of the line tells us he cannot tell us anything until we "pay him off."

He later called back, claiming he knows nothing about what we are talking about. And knowing full well that he's being recorded by a reporter for a television station, asks for money again.

When Andrew Ellison made it clear we were not going to do that he replied, "you can kiss my a**", before hanging up.
