CORPUS CHRISTI -- A huge water main break in the 3800 Block of SPID kept police officers and city crews very busy this afternoon and even into the evening. Police say the break flooded the road so bad they shut down the area of SPID at Carroll Lane. They also closed off some side streets until city water crews could fix the problem. Police say it would take crews a couple hours to fix the break. They also worked on a smaller water main break on Wilkerson and SPID. There's no word on what caused the water main breaks.
