Warrants Issued for Academy Shoplifting Incident

CORPUS CHRISTI - Arrests warrants were issued today for two women accused of shoplifting from Academy and running once they noticed police were already outside.

Officers were dealing with a minor accident in the store parking lot last Wednesday when a woman wearing cowboy boots came running out of the store. A man was already hot on her heels yelling for officers' attention.

She managed to outrun police as she high-tailed it across the parking lot and both directions of traffic on S.P.I.D. without being hit by a car.

Police say Nola Morales, 27, is wanted for theft and evading arrest. Her alleged accomplice, Amanda Gonzalez Macias-Chavez, 26, is wanted for theft.

Both women are known to live in Alice.

If you have any information on there whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS, or submit a tip online at www.888tips.com.
