CORPUS CHRISTI - Unseasonable start to the day today as overnight low temperatures struggled to get out of the 60s, and in some cases 70s, with a blanket of clouds covering most of South Texas.

Expect the winds to pick back up this afternoon to about 15-25mph sustained and higher gusts around 30-35 possible. Temperatures will be similar to yesterday, despite the cloud cover sticking around for most of the day, as we head into the upper 70s to some lower 80s common over the Coastal Bend. Also cannot rule out a brief drizzle/light shower as the clouds stream overhead.

Tonight, the winds will not die down too much as they will stay elevated around 15-20mph with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures only dropping into the upper 60s. A very muggy and humid night is definitely in store.

Relief in the way of cooler temperatures and even a little bit of rain is on the horizon as a Pacific cold front continues to edge closer and closer to South Texas. It is expected to reach up by Sunday in the early afternoon hours. At this point, a line of showers and few thunderstorms are expected to form along the frontal boundary with the likely rain staying just to our north. Being that we will be on the bottom edge of the front, the chance for severe weather for us here looks minimal. Some of us will get a nice shower or two, while there will be some residents who will completely miss out. Once the front passes, strong northerly winds will usher cooler and drier air and the clouds will begin to clear out leading to cooler temperatures for the start of the next work week.

Have a great weekend!
