CORPUS CHRISTI - Officers called to help a man retrieve belongings from an apartment on Savage Lane yesterday arrested a wanted man who tried to sneak away.
According to police, officers were allowed into the apartment and immediately noticed the smell of marijuana. Randall McBurnett was reportedly sitting on the couch when they showed up.
The guy who wanted his stuff back went back outside with officers as they checked to see if there were ant warrants out for McBurnett's arrest. As that was happening, McBurnett left using a back door.
Police were able to quickly find him hiding behind a parked vehicle along Interstate 37. Police did not say why McBurnett was wanted.
