CORPUS CHRISTI - The mother of a young child is accused of stashing less than $100 stolen from a Cricket Wireless store in the baby's diaper this afternoon.
Police say they got a good description of the woman who allegedly waited for the clerk to turn her back before grabbing the cash from a register that hadn't been used yet.
Because no one had taken the original bank from the register, the clerk was able to tell officers exactly what types and how many bills made up the $93 missing.
Officers headed down Ayers noticed a woman fitting the suspect's description pushing a baby stroller.
They were talking with 32-year-old Renee Guerrero when they noticed her child lean forward exposing a wad of cash in the back of her diaper.
Police say she admitted to the theft as they were counting the money.
