Viera Indicted for Sunrise Mall Murder

Sunrise Mall Murder Suspect Indicted

CORPUS CHRISTI - A Nueces County grand jury has indicted George Viera, 39, on a charge of capital murder for the stabbing death of Donald Lenertz, 76, inside a bathroom at Sunrise Mall last year.

Investigators say Viera killed Lenertz while trying to take his wallet. He was arrested by police not far from the mall.

A trial date has not been set.
