Victims of Fatal FM 70 Crash Identified

Crash Kills Three On FM 70 Near Bishop - KZTV

CORPUS CHRISTI - State Troopers have notified the next of kin for the three men killed this morning in a head on collision on FM 70 near Bishop.

The driver of the truck was Jose Luis Hernandez, 60, of Weslaco, Texas. One of his passengers, Santiago Granados Jr, 42, of Mercedes, Texas also died in the crash.

Two others in the truck are being treated for serious injuries at Christus Spohn Memorial.

The driver of the Mazda that collided with the truck was Efrain Gomez Jr, 26, of Phar, Texas.

Investigators say they are not sure what caused the crash that closed that stretch of road for most of the day.
