CORPUS CHRISTI - The woman brutally attacked on the beach just over a week ago is showing signs of improvement as she's released from the hospital.
The family of 32-year-old Tara Truett says she suffered head injuries in the attack. To help in the recovery, Truett is taking some strong antibiotics and anti-seizure medication.
There's also a fund to help pay for medical expenses. You can go to any Wells Fargo Bank branch and donate under the 'Tara Truett Medical Fund'.
The family is also holding a benefit barbecue on Saturday from 11am to 4pm at the Holiday Inn on the island.
Police are still seeking information on what happened to Truett when she was attacked at beach marker 210.
