CORPUS CHRISTI - Today will be another seasonal day over the Coastal Bend as afternoon highs will once again reach the mid to upper 80s with some 90s out to the west in our inland locations. We will have more clouds than previous days, although we should see some peaks of sunshine this afternoon with perhaps a few light showers to our north. Winds: SSE 15-25 and gusting.
Tonight will feature milder temperatures and muggy conditions with lows only dropping in to the mid-70s.
We will continue to watch an upper level low move into northern Mexico from the Rockies and also a weak frontal boundary ease towards South Texas that will increase showers and thunderstorms to scattered to numerous levels by late Friday and on into Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts should average around half an inch with locally heavier amounts possible. The low and front will stall in the area for a few days and may give way to a few showers for Sunday and on into next week. We will continue to monitor the progression of the upper low as that will be the basis for instability and shower development in the region.
