CORPUS CHRISTI -- When Rosa Pangilinan returned from the beach Sunday morning she found an SUV in her bedroom.
Authorities said the man driving the vehicle went into diabetic shock and lost control, slamming into Pangilinan's house on the 800 block of Lumm Street.
Police said the SUV burst into flames and caught part of the house on fire, deatroying almost everything inside.
Pangilinan, 73, lived at the house with her daughter and grandchildren. Luckily, they were also at the beach with her when the accident happened.
The driver went to the hospital, but he is expected to be okay.
Pangilinan, who found her two chihuahuas hiding in the rubble underneath a cabinet, is staying at a hotel with her two dogs. No word on what she plans to do next.
